"Gambler and Faro Dealer"

Luke Short was a Famous Gambler and Gunfighter. He owned the Long Branch Saloon in Dodge City, Kansas and the White Elephant Saloon in Fort Worth, Texas. Both saloons were very famous during their time. He counted among his friends some of the most famous figures of the Old West including Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson and Doc Holliday.

Luke was forced to kill Charley Storms and Jim (Long-Haired Jim) Courtright in western style face-to-face gun fights. He was small in stature but not one to mess with. He has been credited with killing 14 men during his short life. He died of natural causes at the tender age of 39.

Luke was also a bit of a ladies man, a "Dandy" in his dress and good natured.
