"Legendary
Scout
and
Stock Detective"
Tom
Doroff heads up his own traveling group of Old West
performers called Shadows of the Old West.
His
active involvement of over 10 years with the largest
and most authentic Old West group in the country has
honed his skills in Wild West shows, which he produces,
and Old West scenarios, many of which he has written
and directed.
His
main character is Tom Horn, the infamous cattle drover,
Indian scout and interpreter and hired gun. His
resemblance to Steve McQueen, who starred in the 1980's
movie of the same name, lends to the believability of
his portrayal.
Tom
also developed the character of William F. "Buffalo
Bill" Cody, who, in his younger years, also followed
a career as an Indian scout for the Army and buffalo
hunter for the Railroad. His expertise at both
led him to become the most famous dime-novel hero and
showman of his time, bringing Wild West entertainment,
never seen before, all over the US and Europe.
Tom
also drifts into various characters as might be called
on in a particular event. One being George Clyde, portrayed
in the movie "Ride With The Devil", a Southern
gentleman and border ruffian during the Civil War. George
is usually seen escorting his lady, Miss Wispah, at
gala Old West events.
Through
historical study and attention to detail, Tom has been
able to accurately depict his characters right down
to an original 1886 Winchester .45-60 used by Tom Horn,
and the white horse and trappings most of us remember
from Buffalo Bill's career. His knowledge of Old
West lore, proficiency with guns of the time and his
horsemanship make for a crowd pleasing act.
Tom
Doroff is a member of the NRA,
SASS and AFRG.
